Heart-stopping moment two cars avoid head-on crashes after driving on the WRONG side of the road

  • Ex-copper films two reckless cars race through rush hour traffic in Bradford
  • Cars swerve to narrowly avoid head-on collision with pair of crazed drivers
  • The man who captured the footage describes them a ‘law unto themselves’

This is the terrifying moment motorists in Bradford city centre are forced to swerve to avoid a head-on collision with two out-of-control drivers.

An ex-police officer who filmed the dashcam footage was enraged by the incident.

He said driving conditions in the West Yorkshire city have reached worse levels than those experienced in central London.

The former copper, now a civilian, captured the shocking footage in May.

He described the pair weaving in and out of rush hour traffic as a ‘law unto themselves’.

The clip shows the two cars zipping straight through the middle of a dual carriageway on a Bradford city centre road.

It cuts to a rear view angle that shows how other cars are forced to jam the brakes to avoid a potential crash.

The fate of the brazen drivers and other vehicles they missed is not known.

It may be surprising to hear that reckless wrong-way driving is not entirely uncommon in Britain.

Last month a truck driver narrowly missed a hatchback heading down the M5 while in March one car avoided a near ‘catastrophic’ collision when driving backwards around a roundabout in Hampshire.
