A scooterist has impressed the public after helping an elderly woman cross a wide road in China.
The Good Samaritan stopped his scooter in front of passing cars forcing them to stop, after seeing the frail pensioner stuck in busy traffic.
He then patiently watched the pedestrian walking to the other side of the four-lane thoroughfare with the help of her walking stick before finally riding off.

The incident took place in Hezhou, south China’s Guangxi Province, last Friday.
CCTV footage of the touching event has been widely shared by Chinese media after being released by Hezhou Traffic Police on its Twitter-like Weibo account.
According to the police, there are a set of traffic lights in the section of the road where the pensioner was trying to cross.
It is said when she started crossing the road, the green light was on. But because she walked slow, the traffic signal changed when she was in the middle of the road.
Although some of the oncoming cars stopped for her, others on the outer lane carried on driving, leaving the helpless woman trapped in traffic.
Upon seeing the scene, the scooterist overtook two lanes of cars from the outside before stopping in front of a black car, forcing the moving traffic to halt.
He then gestured to the driver in the black car, telling the driver to let the pensioner cross the road.

The man’s act has been highly praised by Chinese media, traffic police and internet users
The Hezhou Police has praised the unnamed scooterist on its social media account, saying he had come forward to help the others in admirable manner.
The CCTV footage was later shared by China’s People’s Daily Online on Weibo and the post has gathered more than 30,000 comments since yesterday.
Most Weibo web users said they were moved by the man’s act.
One such user wrote: ‘It is so heart-warming. Some people’s behaviour can warm up an entire city.’
Another said: ‘Spreading positive energy.’
However, some commentators pointed out that the scooter rider had not obeyed traffic rules. They questioned why he hadn’t worn a safety helmet. They also said he shouldn’t have swerved into a lane of traffic at will and ridden in the opposite direction.
Hezhou Traffic Police are yet to respond to the criticism towards the scooterist.
