Heartbreak of man as he searches for mother in Montecito

Rohter was swept away from his home along with his wife Theresa in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Theresa was rescued from the mud and was taken to hospital.  

His death was confirmed by the St. Augustine Academy in Ventura which he founded in 1994.

Cantin died being swept away from his home along with his teenage son.

His daughter Lauren was filmed being rescued by firefighters from their home after they heard her screaming from the wreckage. 

Footage of her being pulled from the rubble of their home swept the media on Tuesday as the scale of the devastation caused by the mudslides became clear.

Dave was swept away with his son who was later rescued from the mud.

It is not known if anyone else in the family is missing or injured.

Jonathan was swept from his home along with his mother, Fabiola, who is missing. 

The child’s father and brother survived and were hospitalized. 

On Thursday, a resident in Montecito who is friends with the family confirmed to DailyMail.com that Jonathan’s body had been found.

Riskin, 61, a real estate agent and founder of Riskin Partners, and her two dogs were also killed when the mud swept down Glenoaks Boulevard. 

Her death was confirmed on social media by Riskin Partners, the real estate agency she was at the helm of, late on Wednesday night.

Retired nurse Josie Gower was confirmed dead by a friend on Wednesday night after being missing for more than 24 hours. 

Her body was swept downhill several miles by the floods, she said.

‘She was taken from us by the muddy floodwaters and swept downhill for several miles,’ the grieving friend said. 

Gower’s worried relatives had been appealing for information of her whereabouts online. 

Josie’s devastated son Hayden searched for her on Wednesday before she was found. 

He wept as he told Good Morning America’s cameras: ‘Why didn’t she just stay upstairs?’  

THE MISSING 

James Mitchell, 89, and Alice Mitchell, 78 

Elderly couple Alice and Jim Mitchell have been missing since early on Tuesday along with their white poodle Gigi. 

Their worried relatives have appealed for information about their whereabouts on social media.

Sisters Sawyer and Morgan were at home with the rest of their family when the mudslides crept over their home. 

The two sisters have not been found but their other siblings and mother were rescued.

John was swept away by the muds as he and his young son Connor fled in the early hours of the morning. 

Connor was found not far from their home and has been hospitalized but authorities have not yet found John.

Larry Anderson, 73, and Judy Anderson, 78 

The couple’s friends and relatives are appealing for help to find them. 

They have not heard from the couple since Tuesday. 

On Thursday, some residents said the couple had been found safe but those reports are unconfirmed.

The young mother was swept away with her son Jonathan, who was confirmed dead by relatives on Thursday. 

Fabiola remains missing.
