Heartbreaking update from Aussie influencer as she reveals one-year-old daughter is in critical condition amid battle with rare genetic disease

An Australian influencer has given a heartbreaking update on her one-year-old who was in a coma for 100 hours.

Allanah Harris and husband Brock run popular The Harris Family TikTok page, which documents the lives of their four children for more than one million followers.

Allanah and Brock share one-year-old daughter Daisy as well as James, seven, Chase, three, and Ellie, two.

Daisy lives with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) – a rare genetic disease that causes non-cancerous tumours to grow in the brain and on other vital organs.

And on Thursday, Allanah took to Instagram to announce that little Daisy had to be resuscitated by doctors.

‘Not the update we ever wanted to give,’ Allanah said on the social media platform.

‘Our darling Daisy is now in a critical condition, fighting for her life.

‘We will be forever grateful to all the doctors and nurses for acting quickly and getting her heart beating again,’ she added.

Since Daisy was six months old, she had been suffering from multiple seizures every day before the family discovered that TSC was the cause.

Taking to Instagram earlier this month, Allanah shared a heartbreaking update on her baby girl, revealing that she had been comatose for more than 100 hours – with doctors scrambling to find the cause.

Allanah shared two photos, one of her hand comforting Daisy’s bandaged arm, and a portrait picture of her daughter.

'Not the update we ever wanted to give,' Allanah said on the social media platform. 'Our darling Daisy is now in a critical condition, fighting for her life. We will be forever grateful to all the doctors and nurses for acting quickly and getting her heart beating again,' she added

‘Daisy was once a bright and bubbly little girl that has recently taken an unfortunate turn and has now put herself in what appears to be a comatose state for over 100 hours,’ Allanah revealed in the extensive post.

‘Unfortunately there aren’t any medications or stimulants that are safe for Daisy to have to help her wake. Daisy has encountered countless needles/blood tests while “asleep” and doesn’t so much as bat an eyelid.’

She added that the reasons behind Daisy’s current comatose state remain a mystery.

Daisy, who also suffers from focal cortical dysplasia, epilepsy, infantile spasms, and encephalopathy, was first diagnosed with TSC in June last year, on the same day Allanah’s first child Lily, who was stillborn, died in 2020.

A GoFundMe has been set up by Brock and Daisy’s grandmother Karen to help cover the cost of Daisy’s ongoing treatment and has raised more than $40,000.
