A heartbroken widow has issued a harrowing plea as she recalled hearing the sound of the crash which tragically claimed her husband moments from home.
Dylan Stokes, 34, was on his way to the IGA to buy superglue when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with with a silver Nissan Dualis along Burpengary Road at Narangba, north of Brisbane last Friday night.
He was unable to be revived.
His wife Alana was waiting for him at home at the time of the crash on what was their 16 month wedding anniversary.
Four days on from the tragedy, Ms Stokes issued an emotional plea to all road users.
‘I heard the bang. It was a minute away from home,’ she told Courier Mail.
‘I just want people to check for motorbikes and double check before pulling out of a side street.’
Her husband has been remembered as an avid motorcyclist and ‘amazing’ stepdad to 11-year-old son Elijah.

‘Dylan was so amazing, as our neighbours would say he was the neighbourhood watch man as he would spend so much time in the garage working on his bike or fixing something or making something,’ Ms Stokes said.
The male driver of the Nissan and his female passenger, both aged 21, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
The pair from Caboolture are assisting police with their inquiries.
A friend has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to organise the send-off that Mr Stokes deserves.
‘My good friend Alana lost her husband last night the 13th September 2024, only 16 months to the date of their marriage,’ Meagan Wilkes wrote.
‘He was involved in a motorbike accident. He didn’t make it home to his wife Alana and Elijah. He will be sadly missed.

‘Alana is now a single mother. Please help her to farewell her newly married husband. And to help financially support her and Elijah.’
The fundraiser has already raised more than $7,000.
Mr Stokes was one of three people who lost their lives on the road across south-east Queensland on Friday night.
