Heartwarming moment a five-year-old boy battling brain cancer rides a ‘unicorn’ at a send-off party organized by kindergarten classmates before his hospital treatment

A boy who was diagnosed with brain cancer was given a heartwarming send-off by his kindergarten classmates as he left to undergo treatment. 

Wyatt Haas, 5, from Terry, Montana was diagnosed with brain cancer on November 15 after complaining of headaches. 

Wyatt left his hometown to undergo treatment at St. Jude hospital in Memphis, Tennessee but not without a fantastic sendoff from his classmates.

‘I don’t think he expected to see a unicorn at the park,’ father Zach Haas from Fallon, Montana, told ‘Good Morning America.’

‘I think he just expected to see friends. He was super excited.’ 

The surprise was provided by Jennifer Nielsen and her husband, Will, parents of another boy in Wyatt’s class. 

The couple agreed to dress up their horse called Bonanza like a unicorn, complete with washable, colourful animal chalk and a unicorn horn made from paper towel rolls.

Wyatt has been admitted to St. Jude hospital in Tennessee where he will undergo radiation and chemotherapy treatment

After being diagnosed with a brain tumor in November, Wyatt underwent an operation on November 16 to partially remove it. However doctors afterwards discovered that Wyatt has Medulloblastoma brain cancer.  

‘The last couple months he’s been in so much discomfort,’ his father said. ‘He hasn’t been laughing, playing … having fun.’

He has been admitted to St. Jude hospital in Tennessee where he will undergo radiation and chemotherapy treatment.
