Disturbing footage has emerged of a heavily pregnant woman being brutally attacked at a Sydney cafe.

The 31-year-old, who is 38 weeks pregnant, was with friends at the Church Street, Parramatta eatery at 10.30pm on Wednesday when a man randomly approached their table.

CCTV footage shows the man leaning over the woman before he began punching her multiple times in the head, causing her to fall to the ground.

He can then be seen stomping on her head.

Other patrons came to the woman’s aid and restrained the man until police arrived. The woman does not know her attacker.

The 43-year-old has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray. He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.

The woman remains in hospital for observation.
