Helen Flanagan says ‘there are some awful men out there’ as she gives an update on her love life after splitting  from Scott Sinclair

Helen Flanagan has spoken out on single life two years on from her split from her fiancé Scott Sinclair. 

The former Coronation Street actress, 34, and the footballer, 35, separated in 2022 after 13 years together. The pair share three children, Matilda, eight, Delilah, five, and son Charlie, three.

And after revealing the real reason behind her break up, Helen has now insisted the world of dating is not for her.

Speaking to Charlotte Dawson on her Naughty Corner podcast, Helen, who has been busy filming the new series of Celebs Go Dating, admitted ‘being single is, wow. There are some awful men out there.’

Explaining she signed up to celebrity dating app Raya, Helen continued: ‘I did have Raya on my phone and Matilda would sit on my phone and she would go through the guys on the dating app and would laugh at them.’

‘She would go to school and be like, “my mum has a boys app”.

‘I don’t have the app anymore, I did go on a few dates from there but I kind of felt a bit…but it was hilarious at the beginning.’ 

Her latest interview comes after Celeb Go Dating’s dating agent Anna Williamson, 42, revealed Helen was incredibly close to getting booted off the show after breaking one of the agencies’ rules.

Speaking about the juicy series, which airs later this year, Anna told The Sun: ‘Helen, I just love her.

‘What I will say about her though – and I don’t want to spoil anything – but Helen has the biggest cliffhanger pivot of a storyline that we’ve ever had in Celebs Go Dating history. 

‘Helen nearly got thrown out of the agency two weeks ago. She did something huge which goes against all the rules of the agency.’

Helen will appear on the next series of Celebs Go Dating alongside a host of other famous faces.

The upcoming batch of episodes will also feature Love Island star Chris Taylor and Ella Morgan, who is the ex-girlfriend JJ Slater, who is the current boyfriend of Katie Price.

Other stars set to look for love include former Hollyoaks actress Jamelia and Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry. 

The cast will be completed by influencers Lauryn Goodman and Tristan Phipps.
