Helena Christensen and her mother Elsa sweetly held hands as they headed out on a stroll in New York on Wednesday. 

The Danish supermodel, 55, wore a khaki minidress decorated with buttoned pockets, while sheltering her eyes from the rays with sunglasses.

Helena kept comfortable in tan leather sandals and accessorised with a cross-body bag.

Elsa wore a long-sleeved floral shirt and loose trousers, teamed with a satchel bag. 

She moved to Denmark from Peru when she was 18 and later had daughter Helena with her husband Fleming Christensen.

Helena previously ran Butik, a shop in the West Village selling jewellery, pieces from her Christensen & Sigersen clothing line and antiques, but shut it down in 2008.

Her mother also has a store, the Yo-Yo Second Hand Shop, in Christianshavn, Copenhagen in Denmark in which she sells vintage clothing sourced by her daughter.

Vogue cover girl Helena rose to prominence in the late eighties, becoming one of the most popular models of her time.

The catwalk queen has one son, Mingus Lucien Reedus, 23, with her former flame, American actor Norman Reedus, whom the model dated between 1998 and 2003.

They former couple have been amicably co-parented Mingus for two decades and always come together for his important achievements. 

Helena went on to date singer Paul Banks, but the couple broke up in 2015.

Norman has been in a relationship with German actress Diane Kruger, 47, since 2016 after first meeting on the set of the 2015 movie, Sky.

The couple welcomed daughter Nova in 2018.
