A woman in her 50’s was saved from the jaws of an aggressive dog by her Palomino horse.
An ambulance was called about 12.30pm on Tuesday to reports of the canine biting the woman as she rode a horse in Linton, south-west of Ballarat.
The dog forcefully pulled the woman off her horse after biting into her leg, The Courier reported.

Desperate to protect its owner, the horse rushed to help her, and ran at the dog and chasing it into the bush.
The woman suffered lower leg injuries and was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Her horse was found with horrific gashes to its neck from its scuffle with the dog.
A veterinarian stitched the wounds up, and a spokesman for Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia the dog has been surrendered by its owners.
