A restaurant spokeswoman said the blaze was in the extraction system above an oven and restaurant service was not interrupted.
An MBF Spokeswoman said sprinklers were off and the fire was contained to the kitchen.
A witness told 3AW guests were evacuated from Crown’s day spa.
‘It looks like it’s coming from Heston’s area, the restaurant there. I was at the gym and I could smell it coming through the pipes,’ the witness said.
