HGV clips car and makes it spin across M74 in Scotland

  • Lorry sends a car careering across the motorway while changing lanes
  • The car narrowly misses a collision with other vehicles on the high speed road
  • The incident was captured on a dash cam by another HGV driver

A dash cam has captured the heart-stopping moment that a heavy goods vehicle clipped a car and sent it spinning across all four lanes of the motorway.

The car narrowly avoided a collision with other oncoming traffic as it involuntarily made its way across the M74 in Scotland.

Footage captured by the dashboard camera of another lorry driving directly behind the incident shows the HGV bump into the back of the small car while manoeuvring into the inside lane.

The bump sends the car careering across the road before being brought to a standstill by the barrier in the central reservation of the high speed route.

Meanwhile, the lorry, and several other vehicles including the lorry which captured the collision, are seen pulling over to attend to the car.

The incident took place near Uddingston in South Lanarkshire.
