‘You don’t know about cars!’ Hi-5 star Charli Robinson hits back at critics who panned her reporting role for Repco Supercars Championships
Charli Robinson has hit back at critics who said she ‘doesn’t know about cars’ because she is a woman.
The former Hi-5 star has landed a role as a pit reporter for the Repco Supercars Championships.
But the 41-year-old admits that there has been some downsides to her new career.

‘You don’t need anybody telling you that you don’t know about cars and that you don’t know about motorsport because you are female,’ she told Supercars.com.
‘These women know their stuff. I think coming into the industry, you just need to be strong as a woman and realise people are going to say a lot of crap about you but that is only because they don’t know you.’
She added: ‘I am also a believer of the best person for the job. I am not saying that we need to put women in just to have 50/50 split of men and women.

She added: ‘These women know their stuff. I think coming into the industry, you just need to be strong as a woman and realise people are going to say a lot of crap about you but that is only because they don’t know you’
‘The best person for the job should get the role so we have got to work on that a bit.’
Last year, Charli gave birth to her second child, daughter Theadora Elle Talbot, now one.
The Aussie beauty announced that she was pregnant with her second child to V8 Supercars driver Liam Talbot last March.

Charlie and Liam both spent more time at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, and used the time to prep the nursery.
‘We’ve bought all of her nursery items flat packed, and Liam now has no excuse he’s not away racing — he has to put them all together,’ she told nine.com.au.
The couple, who were married in 2016, also share a daughter, Kensington, two.
