A Florida High School football coach has been removed for breaking the rules over ‘Code Red’ locker room hazing but will remain a teacher.

Oviedo High School concluded over the weekend that Matt Dixon had breached several policies including not providing adequate supervision to the locker room.

It came to light after a Seminole County parent complained about ‘Code Red,’ a practice in which younger players would allegedly be targeted with unwanted touching by older students, WFTV reported.

It lead to three players being benched earlier in the football season and the school district completed its investigation last month.

Dixon was the head coach from 2017, and the ‘Code Red’ practice is understood to have begun three years ago.

He previously worked as the head coach at Atlantic High School in Volusia County.

While there he had also faced hazing allegations but was cleared.

One parent said that he had made players get off a team bus after a game and do an exercise drill. If they did not comply they were to be kicked off the team.

In 2018, a complaint of bullying was made by a parent about the football staff alleging they had sworn around players and verbally abused their son.

Dixon, who will no longer coach the team next year, is to remain at the high school as a physical education teacher.
