Ronaldo was sidelined through injury for Juve’s clash against Atalanta at the weekend and Higuain seized his chance by notching two goals in a 3-1 win.

Higuain featured alongside Paulo Dybala in the league encounter last Saturday and has pointed out that he enjoys playing alongside Dybala and Ronaldo and has no intention of taking their places.

‘They are two different players; everyone likes to play with great players and they are. I try to adapt to play with both,’ he said in a pre-match press conference to Juventus’ Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.

‘I don’t have to steal anything from anyone. We know who Ronaldo is, a winner. I try to help the team win, we are all important and crucial, both those who play and those who don’t play.

‘In the long run, this is what leads a team to winning things.

‘When there are the great players like we have here, you need to make the most of every opportunity you are given. Both Paulo and I have tried to do our best.’
