But despite devoting those considerable resources to catching the pony, it still managed to dodge the police again and again.
It was eventually cornered in Short Close and captured after numerous sightings across the town.

In the video of the chase that has resurfaced after first emerging in January 2016, the person filming the scene can be heard laughing as the pony trots confidently down the road.
Police said it was then taken to a yard while the RSPCA was contacted in an attempt to reunite the animal with its owner.
