This is the hilarious moment a prospective groom was forced to go deep sea diving after he accidentally dropped his beloved’s engagement ring in the ocean.
The clip shows Sarasota-man Scott Clyne, 35, attempting to propose to his girlfriend, Suzie Tucker, 32, on November 12, while on board a small boat with two friends in Florida.
At the time of writing the video has been viewed nearly eight million times on TikTok, received 1.5 million likes and generated more than 3,000 comments.
The original video is dubbed over with the 2003 Snoop Dogg hit Drop it Like It’s Hot, an apparent reference to the ring.
He can be seen preparing to go on bended knee before fumbling with the ring box and dropping it in the sea.
Despite the drama, and being a little wet, Scott Clyne’s fiancée Suzie still said: ‘Yes!’

Clyne wrote in the caption: ‘Dropped the ring in the gulf during my proposal.’ The video goes on to show Tucker and the couple’s friends collapsing in hysterics as he falls into the water while retrieving the rock.
He described himself as entering ‘full panic mode’ as he faced the possibility the ring might end up in Davy Jones’ locker.
Despite everything not going quite to plan, the video at least has a happy ending with Clyne telling the audience: ‘She still said yes.’

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Clyne said he has been in a relationship with Tucker for eight years.
He said that the pair actually met on board a boat with friends in the coastal community of Englewood, Florida.
‘We absolutely love boating and I couldn’t imagine proposing any other way. The proposal was in Sarasota Bay and I had planned the entire night to be a sunset boat cruise and for us to grab dinner on the water,’ Clyne said.
‘I planned for two of our best friends to be with us so they could hold up a ‘will you marry me?’ banner and throw rose petals on the bow while we pretended to take pictures,’ he added.
‘I had the ring in my back pocket and when I went to reach for it, the corner of the ring box got caught on the top of my pocket and slipped out of my hands, bouncing into the water.’
He added: ‘Everything was a blur after that. I panicked and reacted by lunging for the ring box before it could sink, not caring if I fell into the water. Luckily, I was able to recover the ring!’

Clyne went on: ‘I honestly just floated in astonishment for a few seconds trying to process what had just happened. Determined to finish what I had started, I swam back on the boat and finished my proposal soaking wet. It was a pretty hysterical/scary moment and something we will never forget. I even had to go to dinner in wet clothes that night because I didn’t bring an extra pair.’
Among the thousands of commenters was the Carolina Panthers official TikTok account who asked: ‘Did he find it?’
Clyne replied by saying: ‘Recovered my own fumble! Let me know if you guys need a WR!’
Another commenter said: ‘This is actually such a perfect engagement.’
In another video, Clyne is seen getting back on the boat with Tucker still laughing uncontrollably. He writes in the caption: ‘Saved the ring and went back to redemption.’
Over on his Facebook page, Clyne posted the video with the caption: ‘This is 100% real. 100% my luck. 100% will never forget….’
It’s not clear if Clyne and Tucker have set a date.
It’s set to be another big year for weddings in 2023, according to Reuters. This year saw the most weddings since 1984 alongside a spend of $70 billion.
Weekday weddings are expected to rise by about 2 percent this year compared to pre-pandemic 2018 and 2019, according to a survey of couples using the wedding planning site TheKnot.com.
Though most weddings couples are planning for this year will take place Fridays through Sundays, about 10 percent will be held on Mondays through Thursdays.
Kim Forrest, senior editor for the wedding marketplace WeddingWire.com, said the average number of weddings in a year is typically 2.2 million in the U.S. Over the next 12 months, that number is expected to increase to 2.6 million.
The rebound underscores a return to pre-pandemic lifestyles in the United States as vaccinations have helped with the removal of restrictions and eased fears of infections.
While half of cash-strapped Americans say they plan to attend a wedding in 2023 — less than a third have built attendance into their budgets, according to a new survey.
‘I think guests are going to start looking at all the things that they never really looked at before and determining, ‘Is it really worth me attending this event?’,’ says Sheavonne Harris, a wedding planner based in New York City. In some cases, they may just decide to send a nice gift in their absence, she says.
