Hilarious moment embarrassed shopper hides her face when she’s caught in the background of TV news report
- Woman was leaving a supermarket in London amid a live report on stockpiling
- Looked up from her phone and appeared panicked after seeing she was on TV
- She’s seen bolting from side to side in alarm before putting a hand over her face
This is the amusing moment a shopper realised she was being filmed in the background of a live news bulletin and made a botched attempt to hide her face.
The woman was leaving a supermarket in London when she looked up from her phone and realised she was being filmed, prompting her to look away and bolt from side to side in alarm before putting a hand over her face.
The footage went viral on Twitter and prompted one user to joke: ‘When you’ve phoned your work to tell them that you’ve to self-isolate and you’ve been caught red handed on the news.’ There’s no suggestion that is the case.

The report aired last night on ITV News and covered the response of major supermarkets to an outbreak of panic buying as the coronavirus outbreak worsened.
Currently, anyone with a high temperature or a new, continuous cough is being told to stay at home for seven days to ensure they do not pass the infection on. Britons have been told not to call 111 except if they are seriously ill.
It was revealed yesterday that the over 70s could be forced to self-isolate and that people who refuse to go into quarantine risk being thrown into jail or being slapped with a fine of up to £1,000.
The Health Protection (Coronavirus) Regulations 2020, published on the government’s website, says those suspected of infection could be held for up to 14 days in a secure hospital or other suitable location.
Anybody who tries to make an escape can be taken into custody before being returned to detention or isolation, the regulations state.
It comes as Boris Johnson will urge leading manufacturing companies including JCB and Dyson to help build the ventilators the NHS needs to fight coronavirus, after Health Secretary Matt Hancock yesterday revealed the health service only has 5,000 of the machines and will need ‘many times more than that’.
Then put her hand over her face before walking as quickly as she could to get out of the shot
