In the footage, which was filmed at 6am on Friday in Cardiff before being shared on Facebook, the black cat perches on a metal hand rail before flicking the door knocker four times.
The cat then waits patiently to be let in with its paws resting on the door handle, but when the door remains shut – perhaps because the homeowner is asleep – the cat knocks again.
