Hilary Duff and pals catch Lea Michele in Broadway’s Funny Girl

Hilary Duff enjoyed a girls’ night out on Broadway to watch her good friend Lea Michele in the lead role of Fannie Brice in Funny Girl.

The actress/singer got all dolled up before heading out with her gal pals to watch Michele wow the audience with her singing and dancing in the musical’s revival.

Afterwards, Duff and her ladies headed backstage to catch up with Michele — which was documented on their respective Instagram accounts on Saturday.

‘Lea, what a treat to see you in this role! You shine so bright … it was made for you! @funnygirlbwy @leamichele,’ Duff, 35, gushed in her post which included four pictures.

Michele, 36, was quick to respond by writing, ‘Love you hil [red heart emoji]’

For the cover of her slideshow, the How I Met Your Father star shared the snap of herself and her Broadway crew hanging with Michele after curtain call.

Duff, who showed off her fab figure in a chic turtleneck dress and white boots, had one arm around her friend Lauren and the other arm around the star of the show.

Michele could be seen flashing a big smile in a stylish black dress while posing next to Hannah Lieberman and Molly Bernard.

The four women also snuggled up for another pre-show shot that was taken outside, with all of them bundled up in their overcoats and jackets.

In keeping with the rest of her ensemble, Duff opted to wear a furry brown coat, while having her long blonde locks flowing down well past her shoulder and the middle of her back with a center part.

Once inside the August Wilson Theatre, Duff had a photo taken of herself excitedly holding up the Funny Girl playbill and matching cup.

The former Glee star would go on to share three images from their post-show hang with her friends, including one of all five ladies arm-in-arm, much like Duff’s picture.

She simply wrote ‘Friends at @funnygirlbwy,’ in the caption, along with a red heart emoji.

The actress and singer, who’s a Bronx, New York native, also rubbed cheeks with Lauren (@lowenban) in an adorable picture taken in front of the Funny Girl stage.

There’s also another image of the five women posed together that she simply wrote, ‘@funnygirlbwy’, across the top.

Michele took over the role of Fannie Brice from Beanie Feldstein, who received less than fantastic reviews, in early September.

‘A dream come true is an understatement,’ the actress said upon the announcement that she would be joining the cast in July 2022. ‘I’m so incredibly honored to join this amazing cast and production and return to the stage playing Fanny Brice on Broadway. See you September 6th. @funnygirlbwy #FUNNYGIRL’

And then in November, some six weeks into her run in the musical, the leading lady revealed another accomplishment that’s also something she had dreamed about since she was a little girl.

‘A dream come true on top of an already wild an amazing dream come true! Our original @funnygirlbwy cast album,’ she gushed on Instagram.

This latest version of Funny Girl opened at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway on April 24.

The semi-biographical plot is based on the life and career of Broadway star, film actress, and comedian Fanny Brice, featuring her stormy relationship with entrepreneur and gambler Nick Arnstein.

With Michele in the lead, Funny Girl broke an all-time box office record at the August Wilson Theatre for the week ending December 18, by raking in $2,005,696.80,  according to Just Jared.

Mean Girls had held the house record, earning $1,994,386 in 2018.
