Hilary Swank discusses parenting 10-month-old twins Aya and Ohm at premiere of Ordinary Angels in NYC

Hilary Swank talked about parenting her 10-month-old twins on Monday at the premiere of her new movie Ordinary Angels in New York City.

The 49-year-old actress spoke to People during the premiere at the SVA Theatre about her twins, daughter Aya and son Ohm, that she welcomed in April 2023 with her husband Philip Schneider.

‘I think that being a mother of twins, I never have had a singleton, so I don’t know what that’s like,’ Hilary said. ‘But I know that the sleepless nights are hard and when you have one that might sleep through the night, the other one’s not, so it’s kind of this trade-off every night.’

‘But I know this is also a season, and it too will pass, and I try and remind myself that there’s going to be a day when I’m like, ”Oh, I’d love to wake up right now and just hold you.” So just trying and hold on to that,’ she added.

The Oscar-winning actress also noted that her twins were in the ‘crawling’ stage.

Hilary during an appearance on the Today show on Monday revealed the special meaning behind the names of her twins.

‘Aya was a Syrian refugee we met in Lebanon. So she was just this courageous, brave young girl full of life going through a really difficult time. My husband and I were like, she’s so beautiful, what a great name,’ Hilary said.

‘Ohm is considered the first universal sound and unites all people, and that sounds very fitting,’ she said of her son’s name.

Hilary stars as Sharon Stevens in the Lionsgate studio faith-based film Ordinary Angels.

Ordinary Angels also stars Alan Ritchson as well as Tamala Jones, Amy Acker, Drew Powell, Skywalker Hughes and Emily Mitchell.

The film by director Jon Gunn is scheduled to be released on Thursday in theaters.

Ordinary Angels is based on an inspirational true story about a Louisville, Kentucky hairdresser who rallies her community.

The story is set during the 1994 North American cold wave which brought record low temperatures to most areas of the country, as Sharon tries to help a widowed father save her critically-ill young daughter during this devastating storm.

Hilary last week shared a rare snap of her twins while also revealing their names for the first time.

She shared an image on Instagram of the fraternal twins on the beach with their names written in the sand.

She added in her caption, ‘Happy Valentine’s Day P.S. Who else has babies that think sand is edible?’
