Hillary Clinton accuses Brett Kavanaugh of being ‘out of bounds’ in Senate hearing

Hillary Clinton accuses Brett Kavanaugh of being ‘out of bounds’ during Senate hearing where he said Democrats were motivated by ‘revenge for the Clintons’

  •  Hillary Clinton said Brett Kavanaugh was ‘out of bounds’ when he blamed his treatment on Democrats getting revenged for the Clintons
  • She said there should be questions about the temperament of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee based on his testimony
  • ‘The performance, the behavior was so out of bounds,’ she said
  • ‘For anyone that believes there’s anything such as a judicial temperament,’ she said, ‘there is a lot to be concerned about’

Hillary Clinton said Brett Kavanaugh’s behavior during his Senate testimony – where he accused the Democrats of getting revenge on him for his work against the Clintons – was ‘out of bounds.’

‘The performance, the behavior was quite out of bounds. I don’t ever remember anything like that,’ she said at the Atlantic Events Festival on Tuesday.

‘As someone who has testified,’ she added with laughter. In October 2015, Clinton testified for 11 hours before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

Hillary Clinton said Brett Kavanaugh’s behavior during his Senate testimony was ‘out of bounds.’

And Clinton echoed concerns from Democrats about what Kavanaugh’s testimony on Thursday before the Senate Judiciary Committee says about his ability to be a judge.

‘There is such a thing that you seek in judges of a judicious temperament,’ she said, ‘there is a lot to be concerned about.’

Clinton laughed when asked about Kavanaugh’s accusation against her and her husband.

‘I mean, really, it deserves a lot of laughter,’ she said.

‘I thought it was just part of the whole of his very defense and unconvincing presentation and I told someone later, boy, they give us a lot of credit. Thirty six years ago we started this agains him,’ she said.

‘Back at Yale,’ asked Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor in chief of The Atlantic. The Clintons attended Yale University, as did Kavanaugh, although not at the same time.

‘Yeah even before in high school apparently,’ Clinton said.

Kavanaugh charged Democrats with being against him for his work for Ken Starr during the impeachment process on Bill Clinton.

‘Fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons, and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups,’ he said.
