Hippy Harry inherited a love of psychics from his mother Diana

The Duke of Sussex has developed a similar faith in psychic powers as his mother entertained, it’s been revealed.

In his explosive memoirs Spare, which was accidentally leaked in Spain yesterday, the royal, 38, who is based in Montecito, California, recounted how he met a ‘woman with powers,’ who passed a message from Diana to him.

His mother, who died on 31 August 1997, was reported to consult mediums and was linked to a plethora of women claiming to be psychic, including London-based Simone Simmons and author Sally Morgan.

Simmons and Morgan claimed they both spoke to Princess Diana’s spirit after her death, just like the woman who met with Harry and told him his mother was watching over him.

In Spare, Harry recalled that he was initially skeptical about what someone ‘with powers’ could do for him.

However, he recounted being won over by the woman who correctly told him that his son Archie had broken a Christmas tree ornament in the shape of the Queen, and said that Diana’s ghost had witnessed the moment and ‘giggled’ over it.

He recalled tearing up when she told him that she could feel his mother in the room, and told him: ‘You’re living the life she wanted for you’

Diana was known to have seen several mediums and psychic throughout her adult life, before her 1997 death.

Simone Simmons, 61, dubbed one of the Princess’s ‘closest friends and confidents,’ met the royal at the Hale Clinic – an alternative medicine centre – and became a member of her inner circle, often talking on the phone for up to 10 hours.

She told the Mail in 2017 that Diana had been speaking to her from beyond the grave, and believes that Kate was ‘perfect’, but that Meghan Markle was not quite the right match for Prince Harry.

‘She was worried about Kate losing too much weight at one point. But she’s more than happy with Kate. Perfect,’ Simone claimed.

‘She said what she wants for Harry is that she’s totally dependable, because he’s extremely sensitive.

The psychic also claimed that Diana encouraged her to vote in favour of the 2016 Brexit referendum to leave the EU, to restore the UK ‘to its former glory.’

Speaking of her relationships with Diana, Simone recalled that the two women had intimate chats about the royal’s life and her relationship with Charles.

‘We talked about everything and anything,’ Simone recalled of her friend. ‘It’s very strange how I can still hear her. It’s very weird. I hear her voice speaking to me about world events, and being desperately in love with her grandchildren.’

Tina Rogers said she spoke to Diana nine hours before her death on August 31 1997 and that she gifted her a gold necklace earlier that month after visiting her in Derbyshire with Dodi Fayed

Simone alleged in 2021 that she was with Diana at Kensington Palace when Martin Bashir come over to record the royal’s infamous Panorama interview.

Speaking to The Sun at the time of Lord Dyson’s inquiry into the interview in 2021, Simone said Diana had been ‘conned’ by ‘poison dwarf’ Bashir into doing her life-changing BBC interview in 1995.

She said: ‘There is no doubt in my mind that Diana would still be alive today if she hadn’t spoken to Bashir. I hope they throw the book at him. Justice should be done’.

Ms Simmons says she was with Diana the first time she met the Panorama reporter at Kensington Palace in 1995, and claims his deceit went much further than faking two bank statements to gain her trust.

She claims that Bashir charmed her with a promise the interview was about her charities, but they later called him ‘The Poison Dwarf’ after he asked her about her marriage to Charles.

Simone claimed that Diana was initially ‘in thrall’ of Bashir, asking him if he could help save her relationship with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan.

But after he allegedly warned her that she was being watched 24/7, followed in her car and had her phones and rooms bugged, she became paranoid.

Ms Simmons said at one point she and Diana were crawling around her flat looking for bugs, and that the Princess of Wales would later speak to BT about checking her phone lines.

Diana was also linked to the medium and author Sally Morgan, now 69.

When she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018, Sally claimed she spoke to Diana ‘nearly every day’ for four years.

She also claimed she predicted the death of Princess Diana a year before she was killed in a car crash.

The TV psychic claimed she’d foreseen a woman being pulled from a car wreck in a tunnel, who she first thought was the Queen, but later realised was Princess of Wales.

She also alleged an unnamed member of the royal family had called her to let her know they’d found the recordings of the reading in which she predicted the royal’s death.

She said at the time:’I predicted something the year before and was told by a member of the royal family four days after her funeral that they’d listened to the tape of the year before, and it was basically predicting that.

‘I’d said “Oh my god the Queen’s going to die” and I could see a pavement, a grey pavement, and someone pulling her out of a car and then I went ”I think it might be a tunnel.” It was dark.’

Sally revealed that although she spoke to Diana everyday, even on Christmas Day, she never considered she had bene a friend of the royal, because she was ‘closely guarded’ by the royal family.

Derbyshire-based psychic Rita Rogers claimed Diana visited her several times and regularly spoke on the phone with her.

Speaking to the Derbyshire Times in 2003, Rita said: ‘She rang at least once a week to see how I was, as well as for readings.’

She added at the time that Diana called her nine hours before her death to say that Dodi Fayed had gone to ‘get the ring.’

Diana was so fond of Tina that she offered her the Van Cleef and Arpels perfume ‘First.’

Diana gave Mrs Rogers a 15-carat gold necklace after visiting her with her lover, Dodi Fayed in 1997.

The accompanying letter read: ‘Dearest Rita, This necklace was made for you and comes with so much love to a very special lady with an extraordinary gift. From x Diana x.’
