A group of British holidaymakers have been left furious after arriving at a four-star hotel to find an ‘ant-infested hellhole’ which served ‘rotten tasting food’.
Lewis Stacey, 34, and Christopher Smith, 31, from Manchester, booked the Porto Demo Boutique Hotel in Corfu, Greece for seven nights which cost them a total of £1,400, via Love Holidays.
Photos advertising the resort show a Mediterranean paradise, with idyllic sunsets, perfect pools and modern Greek apartments.
But Lewis and Christopher claim when they got to the resort they found a scruffy bedroom, a bathroom covered in limescale and a green swimming pool covered with algae.
Other guests also alleged there were tampons floating in the pool and the food was rotting.
They were left astonished went they arrived and the resort looked ‘nothing like the pictures,’ leading them to question whether they had been ‘generated by AI’.
When they arrived in their room, Lewis and Christopher said it was smaller than it looked in images and that the door to the shower had broken off and had been replaced by a curtain.

However, the curtain size was unsuitable for the unit and meant that their room flooded when they washed themselves.
Christopher told Femail: ‘Lewis had a shower first and then when he was getting dry in the bedroom, there was no dividers between the balconies.
‘So there was just a man on next door’s balcony staring into our room and literally saw me stark naked and it was shocking because you obviously expect some level of privacy.’
The hotel – which is all-inclusive – had ‘terrible food options’ and the pair alleged they were served ‘stale’ fish fingers, what looked like Brussels sprouts and breaded meat that looked like ‘something you’d get in a school canteen’.
Lewis opted to have a fish option one evening and said he had to spit it into his napkin because it ‘tasted rotten’.
He added: ‘I’ve had a pretty tough year so this was something that I was really looking forward to and I was crushed. It just wasn’t reflective of what we were promised on the advertisement.’
The Porto Demo Boutique Hotel dispute the claims made.
The duo said that half of the island experienced a power cut for 24 hours, which included the hotel.

Lewis said: ‘The hotel was so ill-equipped for this. They filled up the generator but that only helped the restaurant and two rooms, we were not given any power packs and there was no announcement.’
Christopher added that because the ’boutique hotel’ was located on top of a hill, some guests were struggling with the steps.
He said: ‘There were these two women in their 60s and one of them slipped and fell and really hurt her arm.’
The hotel currently has a 4.0 star rating on Google, which say the hotel had a ‘great selection of food and was ‘clean’ – however, the duo dispute their accuracy.
Christopher and Lewis both claimed that their rooms were not cleaned during their one-week stay and it appeared that their beds were remade using the same linen.
They added that dirty coffee cups they used would not be cleaned away and started to pile up.
The pair said they’d met a couple on their honeymoon who had booked a room with a private pool, but claimed it had a tampon floating around in the water that hadn’t been cleaned out.

Will Marsden (pictured) says he and a friend paid £1,000 in total for a five-night stay
Christopher and Lewis said the pool bar only had one communal toilet that did not flush or lock properly and was infested with insects.
Despite being an all-inclusive adult-only hotel, Christopher and Lewis said the bar would shut at 11pm.
They said they spent an extra £500 total on eating out at other restaurants and drinking at bars because of the hotel’s alleged poor services.
Christopher and Lewis weren’t the only hotel punters who were left disappointed by the four-star resort.
Another guest, Will Marsden, 30, claims he and a friend paid £1,000 in total for a five-night stay at the boutique hotel in Corfu.
He said he experienced ‘grumpy’ staff members and said the resort was ‘dirty’.
Will said there were spilt drinks and dirt everywhere which left marks all over the floor
Lewis and Christopher said coffee cups they were using throughout their staff would not be cleaned away
Will said his ‘heart sank’ as soon as he saw the hotel in person and claimed it was not as advertised
‘We looked around and our hearts literally sank,’ Will, from Chester, said.
‘The photos of the pool area compared to what we saw are worlds apart, the whole place was a complete dump, the pool was green with algae, and dirt and grime.
‘Not one person was in there.
‘There were mismatched broken sun loungers about – completely different to the luxury ones depicted in the online photos.
‘There were spilt drinks and dirt everywhere, and all the grass was just dried brown mud.
‘The bar was so dirty, covered in flies with one really rude grumpy staff member with a cigarette in his hand.
‘We tried out all the cocktails and every single one was just spirit with soda water and grenadine even though the menu ingredients said they had all sorts of fresh juices in.’

Will, who is a vegetarian, said the nibbles on offer included ham sandwiches and biscuits wrapped in clingfilm, which Christopher and Lewis also mentioned.
‘There was a couple at the front desk complaining of how dirty their room was. They said they had an ant infestation and a broken shower,’ said Will, who is the founder of online art business, Mawgo.
‘We checked in and had to climb up a mountain of stairs to get to our room, carrying our 23kg each of bags.
‘Looking around at the tired, dirty state of the place, we just thought ‘what have we done?’
‘We opened the door to our room and our jaws just dropped. It smelled and it was so dated with marks everywhere.
‘The bathroom was so tiny you could only open the door halfway before it hit the toilet.
‘Everything was covered in limescale and the shower was flooded with dirty water.
‘The rooms look so much nicer on the website – they obviously have a lot of old, dated rooms they don’t show.’

Will said he and his friend got in touch with easyJet and were asked to send over some photos.
He said; ‘They took a whole day to get back to us.
‘I had to call late in the evening to ask for an update and explain all the issues and how it’s completely different to the photos, how it’s false advertisement.
‘The case handler’s explanation was unfortunately we had to kind of expect bad drinks at an all inclusive.
‘Also she said the state of the grass was normal because it had been a hot summer.
‘She also said I should have let easyJet know in advance of my vegetarian dietary requirements, even though I checked the website of Port Demo where it said it was vegetarian friendly.
‘I was offered a £50 refund on the £1,000 holiday. I got back to them saying it’s not good enough, we need to be moved.
‘We were absolutely devastated by this place it was truly awful. They said leave it with us, we had to wait and stay the night even though we didn’t want to.
‘I called first thing in the morning and they made us wait until midday to tell us they could go up to £75 but no more.
Will said a lot of the sunbeds were broken and he was disappointed with his holiday

Lewis and Christopher said they spent an extra £500 total on eating out at other restaurants and drinking at bars because of the hotel’s alleged poor services
‘So we decided to sort ourselves out and paid £500 for another place on top of what we paid for the easyJet holiday. We were there less than 24 hours.’
Will said the hotel they moved to was ‘much nicer’ but he claims he has since been contacted by people who have had the same issue.
He said: ‘We’re just absolutely gutted as we were so looking forward to it and we’re so upset when we saw the place.
‘We would have got out of there straight away if we weren’t waiting on easyJet to sort it.’
An easyJet holidays spokesperson said: ‘We’re really sorry to hear that Mr Marsden is unhappy with his hotel experience.
‘We regularly review the content provided by our hotel partners to ensure it is an accurate reflection, and we’re looking into this case.
‘There’s nothing more important to us than providing brilliant holidays for our customers, so we’ve reached out to Mr Marsden to offer a gesture of goodwill.’
Love Holidays and the Porto Demo Boutique Hotel have been contacted for comment. Both said they were investigating the claims.
