Hollyoaks’ Connor Calland has revealed that he is engaged to his long-term girlfriend Monica Geldart.

The actor, 26, famed for playing Jordan Price on the Channel 4 soap took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the happy news. 

Connor played Sid Sumner’s cousin Jordan from December 2019 until the characters death the following year. 

In his post he uploaded two Polaroid snaps – one of Monica showing off her engagement ring and another of Connor and Monica beaming for the camera as she held up her hand.

Monica – who describes herself an actor in her Instagram bio – wrote in the caption: ‘a million times, yes’ along with a red heart and an engagement ring emoji.

The couple’s pals and followers – including Connor’s Hollyoaks co-stars – were quick to congratulate the pair on their happy news.

Emily Burnett gasped: ‘OH MY GAWWWWDDDDDD.’

Meanwhile Gabriel Clark commented: ‘OOOOHHHH MYYYY GOOODDDDD!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS.’

And another close pal posted: ‘Oh that’s amazing! Huge congratulations!!!’

The pair often share loved-up snaps together on their Instagram and have been dating since 2020. 

It comes after earlier this month Connor had to be rushed to hospital after a football match that saw him suffer multiple injuries. 

He ended up with two fractured bones in his arm and a dislocated knee.

He revealed the extent of his injuries in an Instagram story, saying: ‘2 fractures in my arm and a knee brace… not ideal.’

He also shared a photo of himself tucked up in bed with his arm in a sling, before sharing a post by Monica which said: ‘Goes to play one football match…’

He revealed that he will need to wear the knee brace for quite a while in order for it to recover.

Jordan first was on Hollyoaks in 2019, arriving as a drug dealer intending to sell ketamine to Sid Sumner (Billy Price).

He was heavily involved in the county lines drug storyline that came to an end in 2021, but was fatally stabbed in December 2020.

Since leaving Hollyoaks, actor Connor has appeared on Netflix’s Stay Close and BBC drama Casualty, as well as sitcom Flatmates.

In terms of films he has starred in The King’s Man and Last Night in Soho.
