Tamara has played Grace Black on the Channel 4 soap since 2013 to 2023. She reprised her role for her character the following year (pictured left with Clare Devine who played Gemma Bissix)

In July 2023, she was left ‘devastated’ after soap bosses told her she would be leaving the role, confirming it wasn’t her decision to go.

At the time, viewers watched her character Grace, who was sent to prison for her role in a botched heist plan.

But after the scenes aired, actress Tamara, 45, shared her heartbreak at leaving, telling OK! magazine: ‘It’s absolutely devastating. When I got told, I bawled my eyes out for three days, I was so upset – it’s been the best time of my life.’

Confirming her exit wasn’t her choice, she went on: ‘It wasn’t my decision, but I understand. It’s the name of the game, and Grace was going to get her comeuppance at some point. In the end, she probably deserved it. But I’m sure she’ll find her way out eventually, she’ll be back.’

While Grace’s departure was meant to be permanent at the time, Hollyoaks has since undergone leadership changes and a shift in direction – which has included bringing back familiar faces.

Luckily for Tamara, the soap’s new executive producer Hannah Cheers signed her back onto the cast list in 2024.
