Hollywood superstar John Travolta reveals surprising plan to move to Australia

American actor John Travolta could be planning a move to Australia to embrace life Down Under.

The Pulp Fiction star, 70, is said to be growing tired of Los Angeles’ fast -paced lifestyle and looking at a relaxed way of life in Australia.

‘These days in LA, John barely gets recognised. It’s a completely different story in Australia, where it’s like Grease came out yesterday,’ a family friend told this week’s New Idea.

‘He loves that there’s this whole country where he has consistently been famous for more than 40 years and is never disrespected.’

One of the ways John continues to be appreciated in Australia is through local fans buying tickets to see productions based on his movies.

Grease the Musical played to sold out crowds earlier this year, with thousands of Australian fans scrambling to buy tickets to see the Aussie production based on John’s hit movie.

The insider said Travolta had a long-time association with life in Australia ever since he co-starred with Olivia Newton-John in the smash-hit musical film.

‘A lot of that comes down to John’s long, close association with the late Olivia Newton-John. Their friendship made him something of an honourary Aussie, and John takes that pretty seriously,’ they said.

Earlier this month, the megastar piloted a private jet from Queenstown in New Zealand to Australia for the three-day stay with his 24-year-old daughter, actress Ella Bleu, and his son Benjamin, 13.

The New Jersey-born star started learning how to fly when he was 15 years old, and he obtained his first jet licence in 1978 — the same year his iconic film musical Grease premiered in theaters and cemented his status as a popular leading man.

He has been named worldwide ambassador for Qantas and been honored by the American Institute Of Aeronautical Engineers.

John shared a special tribute to Newton-John on his Instagram Stories on what would have been her 74th birthday in 2022.

The Oscar-nominated actor remembered his former co-star and close friend by wishing her a happy birthday.
