Hollywood’s most famous couples were out in force on Thursday as A-listers descended upon the New York Public Library for the second annual Albie Awards.
Hosted by George Clooney and Amal Clooney, the glamorous soiree welcomed a host of showbiz heavy hitters, with an array of A-list pairs using the event as a date night.
Among the celebrity couples on the night were the likes of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz and Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.
Yet despite being one half of a famously popular and wealthy pairing, Amal admitted she hadn’t let her status go to her head, as when George joked about the ‘power couple’ tag he and his wife have acquired, she confessed that she doesn’t feel that way herself.
While they may not have felt like a power couple, the duo drew in a powerful crowd for The Albie Awards, which are held by the Clooney Foundation For Justice.

The awards are billed as being for ‘courageous defenders of justice who are at great risk for what they do.’
They were named for Justice Albie Sachs, an internationally famous South African jurist who was jailed and then exiled for his activism against the apartheid regime.
This year’s honorees included a Ukrainian NGO, a Congolese anti-rape activist and the two Iranian journalists who broke the story of the killing of Mahsa Amini that ignited their country’s Woman Life Freedom uprising.
For her latest red carpet appearance, Amal draped her statuesque figure in a white sequined gown that featured a small train and matched her tiny clutch.
Letting her dark hair cascade over her shoulders in luxurious waves, her features were sharpened with makeup applied by the pros at Charlotte Tilbury, and she lent the ensemble a dash of glitz with an ornate bracelet.
Meanwhile George, plumping for the silver fox look with a white beard and distinguished salt-and-pepper hairdo, modeled his signature classic tuxedo as he posed on his wife’s arm.
As they posed up a storm in front of the event’s gold backdrop, they mingled with some of the other attendees, including Amal’s mother, the Lebanese journalist Baria Alamuddin.
At one point the Hollywood power couple also flanked fashion designer Donatella Versace, who slid her wiry frame into a daringly see-through brocaded gown.
They also got in a bit of hobnobbing with none other than beauty mogul Charlotte Tilbury, who made a splash in an eye-popping dress with a design reminiscent of fish scales.
The couple stopped to talk to Entertainment Tonight during their red carpet stint, with George telling the outlet that he’s ‘inspired’ by his spouse.
The event occurred just one day after the lovebirds celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary and George joked about people expecting their union to be over long before now.
‘[Amal] inspires me in everything she does. And by the way, yesterday was our ninth anniversary! Said it wouldn’t last, you know what I’m saying?’ he said.

The Albies honour ‘brave individuals who, at great personal risk, have devoted their lives to justice,’ in the worlds of human rights, business, entertainment, fashion and technology.
Amal, 45, admitted it was special to continue their anniversary celebrations highlighting such important issues.
She said: ‘Well, we’re really happy. This is our second Albies.
‘We hope to do it every year and it’s really an honour to be able to put on a stage tonight five amazing people. Many of whom we worked with in Ukraine and Congo and Syria, and places that still, you know, sometimes seem to be forgotten.
‘They’re people who are really making a difference and it’s amazing to be able to honour them tonight.’
George added: ‘We’re lucky that we get to focus a lot of the attention we get on people that need attention. Cause we don’t. So, it’s fun to be able to. Especially tonight.
‘This is a good way to spend this, you know, this equity, which is to say, “Let’s shine a light on people who may very well end up in jail for standing up for justice and standing up for democracy.”’
