Home and Away fans lose it over ‘hot’ new River Boy: ‘I love him already’

The introduction of Joshua Orpin to the cast of Home and Away has sent fans of the soap into a frenzy.

Joshua, 30, features in a teaser in which his new character, Rory, can be seen flirting with fan favourite Felicity played by Home and Away veteran Jacqui Purvis.

And fans have been quick to speculate that viewers will soon see a romance blossom between the two.

The actor appeared in the scene shared to Instagram sporting stubble and wearing a tank top and boardshorts, and fans liked what they saw.

‘He’s as hot AF,’ one viewer gushed on the show’s Instagram message board, while another added: ‘I love him already.’

‘Already excited for Flick and Rory,’ added another.

In the scene, Rory lets out a wolf whistle at Felicity from the balcony of Salt, the restaurant that the Summer Bay favourite manages.

Later in the episode, Felicity gives the ruggedly handsome Rory her phone number.

It comes after speculation surfaced earlier this year that Seven’s much-loved soap is heading for a major shake-up.

With filming taking place approximately five to six months ahead, eagle-eyed viewers are already getting juicy sneak peeks of the upcoming drama.

Home and Away news page Back to the Bay has shared insights into the iconic soap’s future.

In May the site reported that in recent months new cast members have been spotted on set.

Meanwhile, one beloved character has been notably absent, sparking rumours about a possible departure.

Among the new faces was Joshua Orpin as ‘bad boy’ Rory.

The actor told The Daily Telegraph in March that fans should expect his arrival to ruffle some feathers in the seaside community.

‘I can say he is a bit of a bad boy who comes into the show and stirs up some trouble among the Summer Bay locals… he is seemingly one thing on the surface but he has a great depth to him that I’ve had a lot of fun exploring,’ he revealed.

Orpin has a number of credits to his name, including Preacher, Love Me, Upright and the US superhero series Titans.

Elsewhere, Hailey Pinto is expected to take on the role of Abigail Fowler, the sister of Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) and Levi Fowler (Tristan Gorey).

Back to the Bay reports Jacqui Purvis, who has played Felicity for the past three years, was last seen on location in March.

‘I know someone went to Palm Beach today and was told that she’s overseas and not sure if (she’s) coming back, indicating that she’s leaving (or) left the show and no longer filming,’ wrote one fan on the site.

No official confirmation has been made.
