Home and Away star Rhiannon Fish to star in Bachelor-inspired rom com filmed on Fraser Island

Former Home and Away star Rhiannon Fish is set to star in a new romantic comedy to be filmed on Queensland’s K’gari Fraser Island next month.

The 32-year-old brunette will play an American contestant on a Bachelor-type reality show who enters the dating competition for the money – but ends up falling in love.

Called He Loves Me Not, the Australian produced film will also feature 58-year-old Georgie Parker, beloved star of Channel Seven’s classic 80s soap A Country Practice.

Queensland filmmaker Tam Sainsbury will direct the film and is currently finalising locations on K’gari Fraser Island ahead of filming in October reports The Courier Mail.

Famed for its spectacular scenery, Fraser Island lies off the Queensland coast 250kms north of Brisbane.

Sainsbury plans to use the upscale Kingfisher Bay Resort as a major location for the film.

‘There are so many beauty spots around the island – we’re really lucky,’ she told The Courier Mail on Wednesday.

‘Basically it’s about an American actor living and working on K’gari [Fraser Island]

‘She wants to get into an acting course but she doesn’t have money, then she finds out reality show is coming to the island and she’s asked to join the show as a wildcard.

‘But along the way falls love with the lead guy.’

This is the second film Sainsbury has filmed on the famed tourist destination in the last twelve months, having completed 13 Summers with Bec Hewitt and Georgie Parker earlier this year.

Fish, meanwhile, rose to fame in 2010 after playing the character of April in Seven’s soap Home and Away.

The Canadian-born actress later starred in the Disney TV series As the Bell Rings.

She recently appeared in the Amazon Prime  rom-com movie For the Love of Chocolate.
