Talented home cooks everywhere have revealed how it’s possible to whip up all manner of delicious sweet treats using the $29 Kmart pie maker.

And now one Australian woman has taken to Facebook to share how she created zesty orange cakes in the handy gadget using just two ingredients.

‘Soda cakes are a HUGE hit in our house!’ The delighted woman wrote alongside photos showing the delectable morsels.

‘No eggs, no milk just soda. In this case, I used Greens Zesty Orange Cake (470g) and 355mL Coles Lemonade!’

To start, the mixture was made by combining the dry ingredients with the lemonade and was mixed by hand while the pie maker was heating to the correct temperature.

‘First lot I didn’t add enough mixture but they still turned out okay. Didn’t even get time to ice them and they were all gone.’the woman said.

‘After their success and how easy they were, I will be trying a few other soda cakes for sure!’

Many who’d seen the woman’s post online tagged in streams of others they thought would be excited by how easy it was to make these tasty treats.

Another clever cook has also recently shared how she’d used the Kmart pie maker to whip up a batch of delicious jelly cakes – also created using just two ingredients.

She explained the cakes were made using a packet of vanilla cake mix; the mixture was formulated per the instructions then the cakes were ‘baked’ in the pie maker.

To create the jelly, she used a packet mixture and added 250mL of boiling water. The mixture was stirred until dissolved then she added 150mL of iced water.

Once cakes were cooked and had cooled, they were dunked into the jelly and then rolled in coconut.

‘Cut in half and add whipped cream if you desire,’ the woman said.

The easy-to-make jelly cakes won a slew of fans online with many saying they were keen to try the recipe themselves.

‘There goes the diet… Who I am kidding I hadn’t started coz (sic) you guys keep posting yummy stuff,’ said one.

How do you create the filling for Vanilla slice pies? 

Take one packet of Cottee’s Instant Vanilla Pudding mix with 300mL of cream and 150mL of milk.

Using an electric hand beater, whip until smooth.

A third also revealed how she’d used the budget-friendly device to make vanilla slice pies – a treat she said couldn’t be simpler.

To create, start by mixing a packet of Cottee’s Instant Vanilla Pudding with contents with cream and milk.

Next, make a number of pastry cases using puff pastry, then blind bake.

Blind baking blind is the process of baking a pie crust or other pastry without the filling) for two minutes with the lid closed then for another minute with the lid open.

After cooking the cases, spoon the custard mixture into the centre and seal the tops with a pastry lid.

Lastly, ‘bake’ the pies in the pie maker until golden brown. Once cooled dust lightly with icing sugar.
