Home decorator explains why she’s using toilet rolls in her living room

Why decorators are using TOILET ROLLS in the living room for a five-star ‘hotel feel’ – so would you try it?

  • An Australian home decorator has come up with a genius use for old toilet rolls
  • Instead of throwing them away she collects them to place on her eyelet curtains
  • The rolls act to separate the curtain and make it appear more five-star ‘hotel-like’
  • Others have tested out the ‘hack’ and declared it to be ‘marvellous’

An Australian home decorator has showed off her genius way of using up old toilet rolls in the living room, and it’s causing a stir online.

The anonymous woman took to a popular Facebook group to showcase her ‘hack’ which helps to hold up her Kmart eyelet curtains in a more ‘hotel’ five-star way.

By placing a toilet roll in between each eyelet hook the woman makes the curtains ‘bulge’ slightly rather than lay flat against one another, resulting in a nicer overall look.

Thousands of Aussies ‘liked’ the post while others commented on the remarkably simple idea.

‘How good, I’m going to have to start saving mine,’ one woman wrote in response.

‘This is pure genius,’ said another.

A third added: ‘What is this witchery I see! Blimmin’ brilliant’.

Sadly the hack didn’t work for all styles of curtains, with one amateur decorator saying her eyelets were so big they went straight over the rolls.

‘I liked this idea and tried it but when I went outside I could see the toilet rolls in the window so realised the rods need to be installed well above the window to use this idea,’ said another.
