A woman getting settled into a new house was horrified after making what appeared to be a grisly discovery under the tiles of her laundry room.
Audrey, who just moved from Arkansas to Michigan with her husband, was alarmed at the sight of a strange red stain on the floor, alongside several bare footprints in the same hue.
‘We just bought a home, and I think someone may have been [murdered] in it,’ she began in a TikTok documenting the disturbing sight.
‘Tonight, we had a leak in our laundry room… [which] was one of the only places upstairs that had flooring.

She described that they peeled off the upper layer of tiles in the laundry room following a water leak – only to find an unsettling reddish stain smeared across the floor below
‘Because of the leak, we had to rip out the flooring. And let me show you what we found.’
Audrey then revealed a seemingly gory scene across the bottom of the laundry room, covered in smears of the red substance in addition to the footprints.
‘There is literal footprints in this stuff,’ Audrey said in horror. ‘I am freaking out right now… somebody tell me that I’m overreacting and that that’s paint?
‘Even though, I’m pretty sure it’s not paint… it’s underneath the sticky tile too.
‘And if you’ve ever dealt with stuff like that, or know people that work in the field of cleaning up stuff like that, paint doesn’t soak through tiles like that. So. Send help!’
In a follow up, Audrey shared that she had phoned up the police and that an officer had come over to check out the scene.
The officer told Audrey that his precinct does not have a record of any phone calls from their home address for ‘anything suspicious that would result in this amount of blood.’
She added, ‘After he looked at it, he has questions too.’
Not long after, Audrey documented a police officer checking out the scene – adding that he agreed that the red substance was suspicious
To her relief, she eventually got confirmation that the authorities had determined that the reddish substance was not ‘human blood’ – but what it actually is remained unclear
In a later TikTok, Audrey joked that she was unfazed by the find due to all the true crime she watches ‘while falling asleep’
Audrey further stressed that this is her ‘real life,’ and that the police were sending someone else to do further testing.
The content creator joked via text overlay in a later TikTok, ‘Girlhood is finding a possible [murder] scene in your house and not freaking out because you watch [murder] documentaries while falling asleep.’
She had never met the previous owner face to face but, from neighbors, she heard that he had had a government job and kept a lot of animals that ‘defected all over the house.’
He’s since moved out of the country to Africa after meeting someone online.
Luckily, by July 2, Audrey heard back from authorities that it was not in fact ‘human blood’ that she found.
‘They did testing and it was not human blood! And while I know a lot of people are not going to be thrilled with that, I personally am thrilled. Because I would hate to know that somebody passed away in my house.’
She now ‘does not believe’ it to be blood at all – though it was only tested for human blood.
Still, even if it had been human blood, it wouldn’t have deterred Audrey and her husband from continuing to live at the house.
‘I used to own a business doing paranormal stuff. So the afterlife or the thought of the afterlife, and all of its stuff, doesn’t bother me.
‘And we paid a really good price for this house!’ she insisted. ‘I’m going to make this [murder] house a [murder] home.’
