- Sydney trains were found with phrases like ‘f****** not welcome’ on them
- In Queensland four homes were vandalised because they had ‘yes’ banners
- There are still six weeks to go before the deadline for the postal vote arrives
- The events come just days after Tony Abbott was headbutted by a DJ
Vile graffiti quoting phrases like ‘vote no to f**s’ on Sydney trains, Nazi swastikas and rocks being thrown at homes bearing the rainbow flag are just some of the instances of homophobic violence incited by the postal vote.
With just over six weeks to go before the deadline of the same-sex marriage survey arrives, a Reddit user noticed ‘absolutely f***ing disgusting’ insults scrawled inside a Sydney train carriage.
‘Vote no to f**s’ and ‘f****** not welcome’ were plastered alongside the postcode 2200 – which signifies the area of Bankstown and Condell Park in Western Sydney.

Meanwhile in Brisbane homophobic violence is rearing its ugly head in the form of vandalising homes flying rainbow flags.
The home of 22-year-old Olivia Hill was targeted because she had plastered ‘yes’ banners out the front of her house, even having large rocks thrown through her front window.
According to Miss Hill the perpetrator yelled ‘you f******, you poofters’ before throwing the rocks.

A police spokesperson confirmed that three South Brisbane properties were vandalised – some even having Nazi swastikas drawn on them – over the weekend and all of them bore a rainbow flag (pictured)

The Coalition for Marriage, who are representing the ‘no’ vote, condemned the behaviour and asked for protesters to convey their message in a respectful manner.
The violence comes just days after 38-year-old DJ Astro Labe allegedly headbutted former prime minister Tony Abbott.
Mr Abbott then used the attack as a way to encourage no-voters by saying ‘If you don’t want to be pushed around by activists, vote no.’
