Honey Boo Boo – real name Alana Thompson – has posed in designer clothing for the October issue of Teen Vogue.
But soon after cruel trolls slammed the reality TV star, 16, for posing for the magazine, saying she was ‘too big.’
That is when her sister Anna Cardwell, 26, stepped in and told the haters to back off adding her sibling was ‘beautiful’ the way she is.
Anna also said that Alana is in step with the times because curvier models like Ashley Graham are taking all the jobs these days thanks to the inclusion movement.
Supportive sister: Honey Boo Boo – real name Alana Thompson – has posed in designer clothing for the October issue of Teen Vogue. But soon after cruel trolls slammed the reality TV star, 16, for posing for the magazine, saying she was ‘too big; but her sister Anna told The Sun Alana is beautiful the way she is
‘Alana is beautiful,’ Anna told The Sun. ‘There are models like Ashley Graham who are 200 pounds, and she has huge contracts. I mean hell Victoria Secret is working with plus sized models. Does weight even matter?’
Anna does have a point that labels are looking for more variety with their models.
‘The modeling industry has gotten so much backlash for not having plus sized models, now they’re doing diversity with all different types of people and cultures,’ she shared.

And she also said that Alana ‘actually stood up and did it, and hopefully she gives others the courage to do it. Basically, she is putting herself out there, and all the teens who are overweight now- she has given them the encouragement.'”
Alana addressed her weight in Teen Vogue. She discussed how people react to her body and the body positivity movement.
‘I feel like my generation is probably making it worse,’ the candid teen said.
‘Everybody’s all about body positivity, body positivity, until they see a body they don’t like…I don’t understand why people think this way. Just because I got a little bit of extra meat on my bones, you want to hate me? I’ll never get body shaming.’
Alana shot to fame at age six on the TLC show Toddlers and Tiaras and later landed her own reality show with her Georgia-based family, which includes mother Mama June and sister Pumpkin.
‘I guess people still expect me to be little Honey Boo Boo and I’m not anymore. Just because I’m from the south, people expect me to be all country bumpkin, out riding four wheelers all the time, but that’s not really how it is,’ she told the magazine.
She then added, ‘But I do not care. As long as I like myself, I’m good.’
Sweet style: ‘I guess people still expect me to be little Honey Boo Boo and I’m not anymore. Just because I’m from the south, people expect me to be all country bumpkin, out riding four wheelers all the time, but that’s not really how it is,’ Alana told the magazine. Seen in 2019
Honey Boo Boo was beautifully styled in Azeeza and Kelsey Randall while modeling Tiffany & Co jewelry.
And she had a proper glam team: Ansley Morgan did the styling, Danielle Mitchell was on her makeup, and Erin Taylor fixed her hair. The photographer was Peyton Fulford.
Her hair was worn down and her nails were pointy and long like a Kardashian.
‘Very, very hard’: Alana spoke candidly to Teen Vogue about her mother Mama June’s struggle with drug addiction
Thompson talked to Teen Vogue writer Rainesford Stauffer about how she is saving up to buy a car and wants to be a nurse one day.
And Alana also dipped into the tougher topics such as her mother Mama June’s drug addiction which has been explored on the show From Not To Hot.
June started doing drugs with her boyfriend Geno Doak in 2018 and the two were arrested in Alabama in 2019 for being in possession of drugs and paraphernalia.

June stayed away from her children for two years, leaving Alana to be raised by her older sister Pumpkin.
This spring June claimed that she quit drugs and has split from Geno. The family is currently working on rebuilding their bonds.
‘A lot of folks in this world do not realize how many people are actually really affected by drug and alcohol [use]…’ said Alana.
‘It’s very, very hard. It’s something I’d wish on nobody, for real.’
She continued: ‘When my mama got real bad with her [drug use], I didn’t know where I was going to end up. I’m proud of myself for how far I’ve come.’
For years she has lived with her older sister Pumpkin, real name Lauryn, who seems to have had a positive influence on the child.
Her other siblings include Jessica ‘Chubbs’ Shannon and Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell.
Now Alana is living her best life as she attends a public high school in Georgia with her boyfriend.
But it’s not easy being the only famous kid at school.
‘To be honest, I do not have many friends. At all,’ Alana said.
She added her only friend is her boyfriend. ‘Because I feel like folks are so much like, oh my God, I’m friends with Honey Boo Boo. I don’t trust nobody really, so I don’t have friends.’
Alana came to fame nine years ago on 2012’s Toddlers & Tiaras about children in beauty pageants.
Her outspoken nature and Mountain Dew addiction made her an instant classic.
That same year came the family’s own show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was born.
She has been there for Honey: Pumpkin, right, has served as mom to younger sister Alana
This series focused on Mama June and her parenting skills as she brought up her kids with little money.
She showed fans how to make Sketti – fried spaghetti – and cook deer scraps.
The show was a hit and on the air for two years.
In 2017, June starred in Mama June: From Not To Hot which saw the matriarch lose 300lbs thanks to surgery, a new diet and a fitness routine.
But things went off the rails when she started doing drugs with Doak.
The two were arrested for a dispute at a gas station in Alabama in 2019 where they were found with drugs near them.
After that they hoped from hotel to hotel as they burned through her life savings to party and gamble.
Mama’s absence from the family was discussed on Not To Hot as Alana cried over her mother abandoning her and her sister Pumpkin having to pick up the parenting duties.
In recent months Mama has reached out to her children, promising she is off drugs and is done with Doak.
This month, Geno was sentenced to 16 months in prison for felony possession of a controlled substance, which was listed as crack cocaine, during his 2019 arrest in Alabama. June has managed to avoid prison time.
From Not To Hot has been on the air for three years and spawned reunion specials such as Path To Redemption.
Alana has also participated in the spinoff Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.
