A horrified hotel guest has shared how he discovered that the staff at his luxury, four-star accommodations used his toothbrush to clean his room.

Lavell Jackson, a real estate agent from Louisville, Kentucky, was in Las Vegas in late March for the annual RE/MAX R4 Convention, staying at the famed Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas Strip.

But he was shocked when he went to brush his teeth one day – and he instantly knew ‘something was wrong.’

Taking to TikTok, he shared the following PSA: ‘So whatever you do, when you stay in that Mandalay Bay – from now on, any hotel – I will no longer be leaving my toothbrush out.

‘I didn’t think it was real – but evidently it is,’ he further admitted.

‘They used my toothbrush to clean! And they’re being nasty to me about it!’ he continued, flabbergasted.

‘They want to offer me a $50 credit and a new toothbrush.’

DailyMail.com has contacted MGM Resorts, who runs the Mandalay Bay, for comment.

The RE/MAX R4 conference took place over the beginning of the last week of March 2024. Over the same time frame in March of next year, prices for one night at the Mandalay Bay range from a little under $400 to nearly $550.

‘I can’t make this stuff up. I’m at a loss for words. I mean, some companies just have to do better,’ he concluded.

In the comments, he clarified to curious viewers how he’d figured out that his toothbrush had been converted into a scrub-brush.

‘Not hard for me to see, plus I used it the day before… as soon as it hit my tooth I knew something was wrong.’

While Lavell was offered a $50 credit for the issue with his toothbrush, prices at the Mandalay Bay for one guest per night in March of next year ranged into the several hundreds of dollars

‘We all know what happens when you clean with a toothbrush,’ he added, seemingly nodding to how its bristles would likely become splayed out and damaged.

In further comments, he wrote that the ‘house keeping manager could tell when she looked at it also’ – and later added: ‘She didn’t look surprised.’

Responding to accusations that he was just trying to get the room for free, he insisted: ‘Trying that to get a comp room is just dumb… not that broke or that type of person but I’m sure some do.’

Hundreds more took to the comments to commiserate with Lavell, as well as offer advice to avoid similar scenarios at future hotel stays.

‘Another fear unlocked,’ one shuddered.

‘Do not disturb sign from check in to check out.. Request fresh towels as needed…,’ a second recommended – to which Lavell responded, ‘Smart.’

‘I pack up my hygiene bag every time I leave the room,’ a third added – with Lavell agreeing, ‘I have to now.’

‘The room should be comp and the person fired,’ a fourth endorsed.

‘Facts,’ Lavell answered.
