A search is underway for a woman who was filmed appearing to suffocate her pet greyhound dog with a plastic bag near Balgowlah in Sydney’s north.
The woman, who is likely to be a local, is described as being of medium build with shoulder-length black hair. She was dressed in pink running shorts and sneakers.
The RSPCA is now urgently seeking anyone who knows the woman and her dog to contact the Cruelty Hotline.

The incident took place on Peronne Avenue in Clontarf just after 7.30pm on Monday.
‘The informant in this matter has done the right thing by reporting this incident to RSPCA NSW straight away,’ said a statement.
‘By documenting this act, we are able to investigate further and help to stop this from occurring again.’
