A man has been taken to hospital after apparently setting himself on fire in the car park of a London pub. 

Police said they had been summoned to reports of ‘a man committing self-harm’ in Chislehurst, south-east London.  

The man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service but his current condition is unclear.

Debris was seen strewn on the ground in the car park, including what appeared to be a can of petrol

Photos taken at the scene showed an ambulance crew carrying a stretcher out of their vehicle and police speaking to bystanders outside the pub.

Reports on social media indicated that the man had set himself on fire outside the pub.
