Horse smiles in bride Patti Womer’s wedding photos

It’s common knowledge that you should never upstage a woman on her wedding day, but one bride’s horse clearly didn’t get the memo.

Pennsylvania bride Patti Womer found herself being overshadowed by her horse Cricket while they posed for photos ahead of her Mount Pleasant Mills wedding ceremony in September.

One of the images taken by photographer Tony Bendele sees Cricket’s head cocked to the side as he flashes an ear-to-ear grin for the camera.

Patti is pictured sitting on top of the paint mare with a bright smile on her face, and while she looks lovely in her gown, its the horse’s toothy smile that catches your attention.

However, the bride’s other horse, a sorrel gelding named Dutch, looks less than impressed while Cricket cheeses it up for the camera.

The photographer shared the comical snapshot on his Facebook page, where it quickly went viral.

‘Great teeth! The horse, that is… Mike Valdes commented, while David Shutter joked: ‘She’s been Horsey Bombed.’

Although most brides aim to be the star of the show, Patti said she is happy to see the spotlight on her horses.

‘I honestly don’t mind having attention on her instead of me. Dutch and Cricket are such a big part of me, and I will always have a special place in my heart for them,’ Patti told Yahoo Lifestyle.

Cricket and Dutch were the first horses she and her late father bought together when she was just eight years old.

‘This just showed that my father was there with me through the whole thing,’ Patti said of the viral photo.
