‘Houdini’ father foils daughter’s water cup prank with his unbelievable balance
- College student Kiara Owens, 18, attempted to leave her father Larry soaked
- Challenge involves holding a full water cup on the ceiling using only a broom
- Kiara can be seen giggling and running out of shot at their home in Texas
A prank-loving daughter who set a water ‘trap’ on the ceiling for her father was stunned when he nonchalantly overcame the challenge without spilling a drop.
College student Kiara Owens, 18, attempted to leave her father Larry Owens dripping from head to toe after taking part in a water cup challenge last week.
The challenge involves holding a full water cup on the ceiling using only a broom handle and then safely bringing it to the ground.
Kiara, along with a friend, can be seen giggling and running out of shot at their home in Texas, leaving the 49-year-old holding the cup – smugly telling him ‘see you later, Larry’.
But the school counsellor demonstrated his problem-solving prowess by carefully lowering the broom handle the cup was balanced on and holding it in his hand while smiling at the camera.
The 22-second clip has gone viral racking up more than 1.4million views and 104,000 likes on Twitter.

Kiara, from Texas, US, said: ‘We were mind blown, I completely expected dad to fail. The way he handled it at the end made us all laugh.
‘People are loving it, and are calling him a wizard and Houdini and want more of him.
‘We saw someone else try this and fail and dad always gives us the best reactions so we had to try it.’
