Aside from the growing rubble, dust, and dirt that have now encompassed the property, the house looks like it was left completely untouched and appears almost frozen in time – following the untimely death of its inhabitants.

According to various online sources, the legend of the House of Aramberri is that a wealthy family lived on the property in the early 1900s.

One morning, after the father left for work, his wife, Florinda, and daughter Antonieta were alone in the house when three men broke in and attacked them.

The burglars were allegedly in search of a large chest of silver coins that were hidden in the house.

The men reportedly tortured the wife and daughter in the dining room before eventually killing them.

When the bodies were found, it was said to be one of the most bloody, gory and cruel crimes the town had ever seen.

However, with very little clues and it happening long before DNA technology, police struggled to find the killers.

But they forgot one important witness who saw the whole ordeal: the family’s talking pet parrot.

As police examined the home, the parrot allegedly said, ‘Don’t kill me Gabriel,’ and, ‘Not me Gabriel,’ which investigators believed it had heard Florinda and Antonieta say during the fatal break-in.

It’s been said that law enforcement ultimately arrested the father’s nephew, named Gabriel, after they brought him in for questioning and he admitted to the double murder.

A pair of brothers who owned a butcher shop nearby were also allegedly linked to the crime. All three were reportedly sentenced to death.

Now, locals claim that the ghosts of the two women can sometimes still be seen lurking in the dining room while their screams and cries can be heard during the night.

The house is number nine on Nightmare on Filmstreet’s list of North America’s most haunted houses.

‘In the place, it feels as if something is watching you at all times, as if you are not alone inside this place,’ Jose told NeedToKnow.co.uk recently while reflecting on his visit to the House of Aramberri.

‘The saddest thing about that story is that it was a nephew who committed the crime,’ one person said.

‘No one is supposed to pass through Aramberri’s house,’ someone else warned, while another user added: ‘It is said that the walls there are full of silver jewels.’

‘What a beautiful house, too bad it was such a sad story,’ a different comment read.

‘I’m from Monterrey, and that house is really scary,’ another person confirmed.
