A mother-of-two has revealed she puts her two young daughters to bed in the next day’s clothes every night to save time in the morning.

Lisa Lamond, the winner of House Rules Australia 2014, said she completely dresses three-year-old Arabella and Ruby, two, the night before the following day’s hectic schedule.

With her husband Adam Dovile away working as a host for Better Homes And Garden during the week, Lisa said the clever parenting trick has made her life easier.

‘My daughters like to dress themselves from head to toe. On days I’m working in particular, I don’t have a spare hour while they pull up one sock,’ Lisa told The Un-Glossy Magazine.

‘So the best piece of advice I’ve been given is to dress your kids the night before in the clothes you want them to go out in.

‘When they wake up I change their nappy, put their shoes on and we are out the door. It works wonders for me and where I’m at in life at the moment.’

The couple always set aside every Sunday for quality family time.

‘Sunday is family day. Adam is really hands-on when he’s here. His time is precious with the girls and it’s about fun and experiencing different things.

‘I’m not precious about the mess things make, like cooking or painting. I want them to try new things and test themselves. We’re trying to instil in them resilience and confidence, because it’s a challenging world raising two girls.’

And Lisa isn’t the only one who dresses her children ahead of time.

In 2016, former Neighbours actress Madeline West revealed to Daily Mail Australia that she sometimes puts her children to bed in their clothes for the next day.

‘If you’ve got a particularly early start or busy morning, dress the children in their clothes for the next day the night before. Pajamas are optional for me,’ she said.

‘I figured if they’re in clean clothes and getting into a clean bed, they’re fine.’
