The moment a father shrugged off his worries and went bare-handed fishing in his flooded living room has been caught on video.

Viviana Saldaña filmed her father’s fish-chasing hijinks in their Houston home on Saturday, after the house had taken on over a foot of water as the remains of Harvey inundated the area.

With a a large fish already mounted on his wall, the laughing dad can been seen lunging repeatedly into the water and grabbing for the fish as his family looks on.

Meanwhile, serious flooding in the Houston metro area hasn’t always been such a laughing matter, with over 1,000 boat rescue missions being carried out over the course of Saturday night.

At least five are feared dead in the catastrophic flooding, and as much as 50 inches of rain are expected in some areas before the storm passes.

Emergency dispatchers have been overwhelmed by calls for assistance, and officials have put out a call for anyone in the area who owns a boat to join in the rescue efforts.
