How tall is Zak Crawley? How does he compare to Ben Duckett?

How tall is Zak Crawley? And how does he compare to Ben Duckett, as social media goes wild over England’s Ashes openers

The height of England’s opening batters in this summer’s Ashes has become a prominent topic on social media.

At one end, you have Zak Crawley who stands at 6ft 5in with his big, booming drive being his trademark shot.

Then there’s Ben Duckett, who is just 5ft 7in, a full 10 inches shorter than his partner.

They make quite the pair when batting together, and Duckett himself has referenced his height online in recent weeks.

Ahead of England’s first Test match of the summer, Duckett was placed in between Crawley and Stuart Broad – another 6ft 5in player – as the side belted out the national anthem.

Duckett took to social media afterwards to joke: ‘I might stand somewhere else next time’, leaving fans in hysterics at his unfortunate placement in the line-up.

The 28-year-old came up with a cunning plan for another team photo, though, prior to the second Ashes Test at Lord’s.

Having been placed in the back row of a team photo, Duckett decided to stand on the arms of a bench, with the extra assistance making him the tallest player in the team.

His height certainly hasn’t held him back over the past year after breaking back into the England squad in all three formats.

He enjoyed a fine tour of Pakistan in December as England completed the first ever clean sweep in the country, and is now playing in his maiden Ashes series.

After taking a fine catch to remove centurion Steve Smith on Thursday, he will be hoping to return after lunch to build a partnership with Crawley to get England back into the match.
