Married At First Sight’s Connie Crayden exuded confidence when she debuted her stunning new look on Talking Married earlier this month.

And now the truth behind her glamorous makeover has been revealed.

According to Woman’s Day, producers had purposely made Connie look frumpy and bookish earlier in the season to make her eventual transformation seem more dramatic.

‘The producers encouraged her not to wear makeup and wear oversized glasses on set,’ claimed a source.  

The insider added that ‘villainous’ brides like Hayley Vernon were encouraged to look glamorous at all times, while Connie’s laid-back approach helped portray her as a likeable girl next door. 

‘It’s all part of character building and obviously they wanted Connie as the meek and shy bride. But the old Connie is certainly back,’ the source added.

During her recent appearance on Talking Married, Connie looked sensational with  edgy bangs and a full face of makeup.

It’s believed this was her typical style before MAFS producers ordered her ‘make-under’ during filming in September.

Connie parted ways with Jonethen Musulin at their final vows on Sunday night.

She delivered an empowering speech about self-love, and thanked her ‘husband’ for helping her to become a strong, confident woman.

However, a brief glimpse at Connie’s Instagram account from before the show suggests that she was hardly a wallflower.

She worked as a part-time model, often went to parties and spent years travelling the world.
