After a big night out our skin always needs some extra love and care.
Australian dermatologist Dr Natasha Cook and owner of Australian make up brand Pressplay, Kate Flammea, have revealed how you can hide the effects of a hangover.
When arriving home after a night of heavy drinking we often just want to pass out in bed but Dr Cook told FEMAIL you have to at least cleanse and hydrate.
‘Have your bottled water ready at the bedside before you go out with an oral multi B and berocca in a glass for a chaser,’ she said.

Cleansing is important as it helps rid your skin of all the chemicals and toxins it may have been confronted by during a night out.
‘Smoke, make up and environmental pollutants build up in the skin creating inflammation and free radical damage,’ she said.
If all you have time for before you hit the hay in a drunken slumber is taking your make up off that’s okay, but Dr Cook suggests double cleansing if you can.
‘Double cleanse and start with micellar water which is glycerin in a water based solution which cleanses without stripping,’ Dr Cook explained.

‘Then a gentle anti inflammatory cleanser as a second cleanse like my Concentrated Cleanser boosted with anti-inflammatory B3,’ she continued.
‘I advocate an antioxidant serum before a moisturiser with 10 per cent niacinamide B3 and 10 per cent vitamin C.’

‘I understand that it is hard to remember to maintain your skincare routine after coming home from a long night out, however I recommend to quickly remove your make up and apply an under eye cream,’ she shared.
‘This will rejuvenate this delicate area overnight and reduce dark circles appearing the next day.’
To make your tired eyes look more awake, Kate recommends applying white pencil in the waterline and mascara on the lashes
If you still feel like your under eyes need a boost the next morning, then lightly dab concealer onto the area.

Kate personally loves using Face Cheat by Cinch, a 72-hour moisturiser that minimises pores and illuminates skin.
‘It comes in an easy spray bottle and I just spritz a layer all over my face and feel like a million dollars again,’ she said.
‘Another great product is the Hydrating Mask by Skinstitut as it rejuvenates dull skin.’

The day after consuming alcohol our skin tends to be dry and flaky and one area that can often be overlooked are our lips.
‘I recommend using coconut oil on the lips which you can easily find in your kitchen,’ Kate shared.
She also recommends that people become best friends with dry shampoo and add a flush of colour back to their skin by applying a minimal amount of blush.
‘Another trick is placing a tablespoon in the freezer for a few minutes and place it under your eyes. This will decrease under eye puffiness,’ she said.
