A simple cleaning hack that leaves your old, burnt frying pan looking brand new has shocked thousands.
Everyone has one fry pan which looks so blackened that it’s easier to just throw it away than use up all your elbow grease trying to clean it.
But a mum has come to the rescue: she purchased a seemingly worn down $2 fry pan at an op shop and made it sparkle in minutes – and the pan turned out to be a Baccarat worth $160.
Jojo, from Sydney, used Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser & Polish ($8.40) with a scourer cloth to clean the stubborn pan.
She also used Jif Cream Cleanser ($5.55) and a metal brush to get the grot out of the grooved edges.

The mum joyfully made a post in a popular Facebook group ‘showing off’ the merits of her hard work.
‘I recently found this frying pan for $2 at the op shop and thought I’d give it a go cleaning it.’ she said.
‘I didn’t expect the black to come off! Nor did I expect to discover it was worth so much!’ she noted upon discovering the hefty price tag.
Jojo was candid when asked about how she managed to scrub the years of use off.
‘I used Bar Keepers Friend with the scourer cloth. and also some Jif and a metal brush in the grooved edge. It’s crazy how well it worked!’
The mum is also making sure the pan remains clean by checking its temperature before putting food in to cook.
‘And it is staying clean because I’m making sure it is hot enough before putting food in, and that makes it non stick!’ she said.
