A savvy home cook has made cheeseburger pies with leftover burger patties and puff pastry.

Lisa posted to a popular Australian cookery group where she revealed she made the delicious savoury snacks using her $29 Kmart pie maker.

‘Made burgers yesterday and made an extra four patties to fit in the pie maker, because that’s just what you do,’ she wrote online.

To make the pies, few ingredients are needed including meat patties, pastry, cheese, tomato sauce, mustard and pickles.

For added cheesiness, Lisa used the Coles Special Cheeseburger sauce, which can be purchased from stores for $2.75 per bottle. 

‘I preferred the ones with no pickles but with cheeseburger sauce. The sauce tastes like it has pickles in it,’ Lisa said.

The pies seem very simple to make and involve few steps, and Lisa said she didn’t need to pre-heat the pie maker beforehand.
