The Good Guys employee shared the insight with hundreds online and majority were stunned with the simplicity of it.

‘Always ask “is that the best price?”

‘Most often it might just be a few dollars reduction but I just had a customer ask and his air fryer got reduced my $90 because we priced matched Harvey Norman. All with a simple question.’

A Good Guys employee shared how to possibly score a discount on huge purchases. The anonymous worker advised to simple ask ‘is that the best price?’

The advice was ‘liked’ by more than 1,100 people – and while some had ‘no idea’ about the handy tip others shared their own experiences asking for a better price.

‘I got a $1500 TV for $900 last year by doing this!’ one wrote.

‘I bought a new fridge last year advertised for $1400. I asked what’s the best he could do, got it for $1050 and a free four litre bottle of laundry liquid,’ another said.

A third added: ‘Most often it might just be a few dollars reduction but I just had a customer ask and his air fryer got reduced by $90 because we priced matched Harvey Norman. All with a simple question.’

Another admitted: ‘I wish we could do this in Aldi, Woolies or Coles.’

An ex-Harvey Norman employee also endorsed the tip.

‘After working for Harvey Norman I refuse to pay full price. There is always at least 10 per cent, maybe more if you haggle right,’ she wrote.

‘Don’t mention if you’re putting it on finance until you have sealed the deal. The bigger the purchase the bigger the discount … There’s always wiggle room on a price.’

One customer wrote: ”The Good Guys price matched the ninja double drawer air fryer for me it was about $90 cheaper. JB Hi-Fi are also amazing for price matching, they took almost $300 off a vacuum for me!’

An Australian customer previously revealed how to score a refund at JB Hi-Fi. TikToker who goes by the name ‘Little Birdie’ (pictured) explained how the Two Week Price Guarantee works

It comes after a woman shared a little-known JB Hi-Fi ‘hack’ to ensure customers save money on future purchases.

A shopper who goes by ‘Little Birdie’ online said ‘everyone needs to know’ about the Two Week Price Guarantee policy.

If the price of a product drops within two weeks of a customer’s purchase, a refund of the difference in value will be offered to those who ask for one.

In a short video, the woman acted out a scenario between a customer and a JB Hi-Fi employee, explaining how all you need to do is ask for a refund and provide a receipt.

In the comments of the short clip, JB Hi-Fi employees confirmed the policy applies to all stores and is available for all customers.
