A creative mum has shown off her DIY skills by transforming a $99 Kmart dollhouse into a mansion inspired by Wednesday Addams.

The mum said her daughter is quirky, just like the main character of the hit Netflix program.

‘My daughter wanted a haunted house/Wednesday Addams house. They don’t exist,’ she said.

‘So was on the hunt for a house that could look Victorian, bit of paint some copper wire lights we have a haunted house,’ she said, pleased with her efforts.

The fit-out includes the iconic stain-glass window featured in the hit show.

‘I just painted a white circle and then used sharpies to draw the outline and colour it in,’ she said when people asked where she ‘got the sticker from’.

It also includes a ‘Thing’ perched creepily on top.

‘We got the ‘Thing’ from Ebay, it is like foam but harder, we need a softer one though because my daughter likes carrying him around,’ she laughed.

The house is painted black inside and out, with all the furniture matching in colour and mood.

The mum revealed the fit-out including paint and lights cost between $100 and $150, more than the $99 she forked out for the house.

And people were impressed.

‘You are probably the coolest mum I know,’ one woman said.

‘This is just stunning and I’d say better than any store bought one they would’ve had if they did make em,’ another said.

‘This is genuinely very creepy, I love it,’ added a third.

The mum explained her daughter loves offbeat character and has undead dolls like Chucky and Annabelle, so the house fits right in.
